Clemson vs Florida State
When: 12:30 PM ET, Thursday, March 12, 2020
Where: Greensboro Coliseum, Greensboro, North Carolina

Florida State took care of business down the stretch, winning nine of its last 11 to earn its first ever ACC regular-season title and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. Now the fourth-ranked Seminoles look to maintain their momentum as they take the floor Thursday in Greensboro, N.C., in the ACC tournament quarterfinals against the eighth-seeded Clemson Tigers, who got past ninth seed Miami 69-64 in the second round.

"That's a good win for us," Clemson forward Aamir Simms told reporters. "We got payback from the first time we played Miami this season. Now, we've got to regroup and watch film. We don't question our confidence. Coach (Brad Brownell) told us that we have the evidence that we can play with the best of the best." The evidence is impressive victories already this season over Florida State, Louisville and Duke, three of the top four seeds in the tournament, with the last-second 70-69 triumph over the Seminoles coming less than two weeks ago. That was the last time Florida State tasted defeat as Leonard Hamilton's troops set school records with 26 regular-season wins and 16 ACC regular-season wins, but they are hoping to build on that success with more celebrations. "I just feel that there's more enjoyment out there that I don't want to miss," said Hamilton, named the ACC's Coach of the Year. "I want to milk this thing for all I can. You know you get an orange and you want to (squeeze) all the juice out of it? I want to keep (squeezing) the juice out of this orange."

TIME: 12:30 p.m. ET. TV: ESPN

ABOUT CLEMSON (15-15): The Tigers hit 46.8 percent of their shots from the field and a season-best 94.7 percent (18-of-19) from the free-throw line but they struggled from long range, managing to connect on just 7-of-22 (31.8 percent). Simms produced his fifth double-double of the season with 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, giving him 800 points in his career, while freshman guard Al-Amir Dawes topped the team with 18 points. Simms (13.0 points per game) and Tevin Mack (12.2) are the only two Tigers averaging in double figures for the season, with the duo also topping the school in rebounds with 7.2 and 5.2, respectively.

ABOUT FLORIDA STATE (26-5): The secret to the Seminoles' success this season has been their depth, with players up and down the roster contributing each and every game as 11 players are averaging at least nine minutes of playing time. Leading the way, however, is senior Trent Forrest, the all-time winningest player in program history who enters the tournament with 1,143 career points (33rd in Florida State history), 562 career rebounds (20th), 455 career assists (fifth) and 224 career steals (third). Forrest is averaging 12.7 points per game this season, just behind leader Devin Vassell, who has scored in double figures in 14 of the last 17 games and is averaging 12.7 per game this season.

1. Florida State owns a 44-33 series advantage after the teams split their two games in the regular season, with each winning at home.

2. The Seminoles have won the last six ACC tournament meetings with the Tigers.

3. The winner will meet the winner of Thursday’s game between North Carolina State and Duke.
