NC State vs Duke
When: 2:30 PM ET, Thursday, March 12, 2020
Where: Greensboro Coliseum, Greensboro, North Carolina

It has not been a typical season for No. 10 Duke, which has losses to Stephen F. Austin, Clemson and Wake Forest, but the Blue Devils are hopeful of making a deep run in next week's NCAA Tournament. The Blue Devils, however, first must navigate the ACC Tournament and build some momentum as the No. 4 seed against fifth-seeded North Carolina State on Thursday in the quarterfinals at Greensboro (N.C.) Coliseum.

The Wolfpack are sitting on the NCAA bubble but a win over the Blue Devils would most likely wrap up a tournament berth. “But everybody understands it,” guard Braxton Beverly said. “We don’t have to talk about it. As long as we take care of business, everything else will take care of itself.” Devon Daniels scored 15 of his 23 points in the first half in NC State's 73-58 victory against Pitt on Wednesday. The Wolfpack routed the Blue Devils 88-66 in Raleigh on Feb. 19 behind 28 points from Markell Johnson and 25 from Daniels, while Duke won 88-69 at home earlier this month behind 18 points from Cassius Stanley and 17 from Vernon Carey Jr.

TIME: 2:30 p.m. ET. TV: ESPN

ABOUT NORTH CAROLINA STATE (20-12): The Wolfpack held the Panthers to 35 percent shooting and forced 14 turnovers Wednesday. Daniels (12.7 points, 5.4 rebounds) shot 9-of-14 from the field to record his fourth 20-point outing of the season, C.J. Bryce (13.2 points, 6.3 rebounds) added 13 points and 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double and Johnson (12.8 points, 6.8 assists) added 11 assists and two steals. Sophomore 6-10 D.J. Funderburk (12.8 points, 6.2 rebounds) has scored in double figures in seven of his last eight games, averaging 14.0 points on 58 percent shooting and 7.0 rebounds.

ABOUT DUKE (25-6): Tre Jones, both the ACC Player and Defensive Player of the Year, is sixth in the ACC in scoring (16.2), second in assists (6.4), fourth in assist/turnover ratio (+2.4) and sixth in steals. Carey, the ACC Freshman of the Year, is the only player ranked in the top 10 in scoring (third, 17.8), rebounding (fourth, 8.8), field-goal percentage (first, .577) and blocked shots (sixth, 1.6). He had 44 points on 14-of-26 shooting, 19 rebounds and five blocks in the first two games against NC State, while Jones had 32 points, 12 rebounds, six steals and eight assists but shot just 10-of-32 from the floor.
